About Us
Over the past two years one of our residents, has set up and run South Wonston Recycling and attended the Parish Council meetings. Once the Parish Council had appointed a Councillor to take the Climate lead, they and a few other likeminded people met with Winchester Action on the Climate Crisis (WINACC). From this meeting in April 2022 South Wonston Sustainability was formed.
Everyone in the group gives their time voluntarily. We meet on a regular basis and are learning about the enormous changes we are facing.
We’re taking part in the Winchester Climate Action Network. At the start of this project, in 2021, Impact Reports were commissioned for all the Winchester parishes. Here’s South Wonston's Carbon Footprint Report.
South Wonston Sustainability is focusing on the following areas in which we can affect change and reduce our carbon footprint: Energy, Travel, Food, Circular Economy and Biodiversity.
